A common question people have is if electric toothbrushes are better for our dental health than regular ones.
It’s not so much the toothbrush that does a good or bad job; it’s how the person uses the toothbrush. Regular toothbrushes can be just as effective as electric toothbrushes as long as you are brushing correctly.
However, there are some people who may find electric toothbrushes easier to clean with. The first group is children. If you ask any parent about their child’s dental hygiene most of the time it is less than perfect. Electric toothbrushes may do a better job of cleaning your child’s teeth compared to a toothbrush they have to manually move and brush with. Electric toothbrushes are also more fun for children to use, meaning they may enjoy brushing their teeth more if they have an electric toothbrush.
People who have issues such as arthritis, gum disease or braces may also find electric toothbrushes easier to use and clean with. These issues make it hard to completely clean and remove germs and bacteria with a regular toothbrush.
